Good Times Here - Seaside

Now that school has started and I'm back into a 'somewhat' regular routine, I have more time to work on scrapbook layouts.  Here's one I made to capture a few of the many beach photos I have in my photo stash just waiting to go into an album.

This layout features the Seaside Workshops on the Go stamp and paper.  I added texture and dimension with inked edges, layered papers, a bit of burlap mesh (from Michael's, I think) and foam dots behind a few elements.

Honeycomb stamp set card

When I saw the new Spring/Summer papers I fell in love with Buzz and Bumble and the Honeycomb stamp set.

I found that it was quick to make this super easy card using one stamp set, two ink colors, and a card base.

I used Chocolate and Goldrush inks and randomly chose the different patterns available on the stamp set.  I did not fold the card before I stamped.  I started in the upper right corner making sure to stamp off the edge with the first two hexagon shapes so it would look random.  I kept stamping down toward the left all the way across what will be the back of the card when it's folded.  Then I stamped the sentiment in the lower right with Chocolate ink.

Honeycomb stamp set $13.95 (C1537)
Chocolate Ink $5.25 (Z2111)

This stamp set also makes a great background or embellishments for your scrapbook pages.  Here is a page using Buzz and Bumble paper.  I plan to put pictures of my home improvements on this page.

Celebrate your Valentine with a scrapbook page

Who's your favorite Valentine?  Celebrate that relationship by creating a scrapbook page all about them.  This layout was created using the Buzz and Bumble Workshop on the Go kit.

Attach the photo to the top of the center flap.  Under the flap there is a space for hidden journaling.  Tell the story of how you met or why you are meant for each other.

Christmas - Advent Calendar

For years I've been looking for a nice Advent Calendar for my kids.  I've always bought the ones I've seen in the craft stores that have a small piece of chocolate behind each little cardboard flap.  When I saw the new CTMH Advent Calendar Workshop I knew that was exactly what I needed!  These kits are easy to make.  The boxes are cut using the Cricut Artiste cartridge.

The Advent Calendar Workshop includes:
     1 – My Creations® Cubby
1 – My Acrylix® Advent Calendar Workshop Stamp Set (C-size)
     15 – Cardstock Sheets (3 ea. of 5 kit-exclusive colors)
     1 – Bitty Sparkles
     2 – 12" × 6" Dimensional Elements In Color—Frames Sheets
     1 – Instructional Brochure
You supply black ink, stamp blocks, and adhesive.

The best part is, once I had the stamp set I was able to make another calendar with my own design. The My Creations® Cubby can be purchased separately.  For the second calendar I used Cranberry, Desert Sand, Olive and Smoothie cardstock as the draw bases.  Pear & Partridge paper was used for the drawer faces (2 1/4 inch squares, cut out notch).  The frames are a combination of round and square shapes.  The round frames are made using the 2 inch scallop punch.  The square frames use a shape (page 33) from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge (cut at 2 in).  The numbers are stamped on round (1 1/2 inch) or square (1 1/2 inch) Cashmere cardstock (from Pear & Partridge).

My drawers each contain a few Hershey kisses or a mini candy bar (think left-over Halloween candy) but you probably have many other creative ideas. (drawers are 2 1/2" x 2 1/2")
